["Three people were in the Mustang, an adult male driver and two female passengers. The driver is awaiting criminal charges once he is released from a local hospital, the sheriff's office said. Brianna Reed, an 18-year-old passenger, was booked on allegations of aggravated motor vehicle theft and vehicular eluding complicit. The second passenger was not charged.

About an hour before the crash, Reed allegedly stole a Subaru that was left running at a Murphy USA gas station. Deputies said Reed was dropped off at the gas station by the unidentified man in the Mustang.

Moments later, a deputy spotted the Mustang in the parking lot of Costco and began to drive toward it when the Mustang took off, the release read.
