Officer in New York Racks Shotgun to Intimidate Police Protesters: “Are You Scared?”

After viewing the two videos, and as someone perfectly happy to call out government and law enforcement officials on actual fucked up shit...

I have no problem with this.

  1. Shotguns are not long rifles. They may be long guns, but they are not long rifles. There is no such thing as a shotgun rifle. Nor are they oooh scary "MASSIVE". A Barret .50 I would term massive. Not a fucking shotgun.

  2. It is safe to assume those were loaded with less-than-lethal riot control rounds. Not double-ought or worse.

  3. An officer racking a round into chamber while pointing it at the ground is unremarkable. Un-remark-able. I cannot find fault with his demeanor. He seemed calm and collected. Relatively non-confrontational and ID'ed himself upon request.

  4. The other officer safely kept his weapon pointed skyward and exhibited proper trigger discipline, with his finger outside the guard. I also cannot find fault with his demeanor. He seemed calm and collected. Relatively non-confrontational.

  5. Would someone kindly point out where a LEO racked his weapon and said, "Are you scared?". Would someone kindly point out where anyone said, "Are you scared?". I must have missed it.

  6. I personally find fault with the protesters for shutting down a busy tunnel and street intersection. It is not at all a stretch to say they are placing fellow citizens in potential danger, from at least an automobile accident. I personally think they are also being excessively disruptive to the public. There are other, better ways to protest and garner attention. I've partaken in them, myself, on quite a few occasions.

I, again, have no problem with what was shown and those particular protesters can go fuck themselves. They do not represent me, my ideals nor do I think they are doing any of us any favors. ಠ_ಠ
