Official /r/medicalschool MATCH DAY Thread

Using my roommate's account that he left logged in, but let me tell you how today went for me. I didn't even attend my match day today because I had no reason to. I found out that I failed step 2 CS in february and just now retook the thing a week ago. Ergo, I didn't attend match day because I was told that I had no chance to match, and I already had research work lined up for this coming year. So, I stayed home and messed around, diddling around here and there an old MIDI player I forgot I had. About 10 o'clock I started getting my phone blown up by texts from friends in my class asking where the fuck I was because my name was called at match day and I wasn't there. Turns out I matched at a program better than the one that I ranked as my number one, and all my NRMP emails had been going to my spam folder but I never checked because I had no reason to since I was convinced I wasn't going to match. Went from being certain of a research year and not attending my match to matching in a pretty good program and I only found out from people wondering why the hell I was skipping match day. Still not sure what to think about it all. Feels good man.
