What event in your life has been the most influential?

I always liked computers as a kid, but I never understood how they worked. I was also clueless with what I wanted to do with my future as well.

I had a really cheap netbook that I took to my much older cousins house on vacation, and when we got there my cousin said "Hey I've got a few of those netbook parts in my garage, maybe you could find some RAM to upgrade yours with." I was very exited to receive a 4GB stick of ram, whatever that meant. So, after occasionally messing with computer parts over a couple of days I asked my cousin "Can I pleeeeaasssss have that RAM?"

He said "I have it here but I don't think your computer would benefit from it, it's too weak."

I had absolutely no clue what he was saying with all of his technical talk, but that day I promised myself that I would someday know exactly how computers worked, no matter how long it took. It may not sound like that crazy of an event, but it really gave me a path, something to work towards as a kid.

Today I'm definitely not done learning and I probably never will be, but I've been paid many times for my computer contract/freelance work, and I'm heading to university next year. I've got my path :D

TL;DR: I was a kid, I didn't know the computer mumbo jumbo, so I told myself I would learn. Looking forward to what the future holds.
