Official r/TOOLBand discussion thread: Lipan Conjuring, Lost Keys (blame Hoffman), and Rosetta Stoned.

A quick Google search tells of the Lipan Apache being users of peyote for ritual/religious ceremonies.

So in our modern world in searching for spiritual meaning, we have this romanticized idea of it was just drugs that allowed the ancients to have so much more (apparent) faith in a spiritual being(s) that allowed them to live not only off, but WITH the land.

Hallucinogens allow us to come close to realizing, to quote Bill Hicks, how we are being fucked every day of our lives. That is why we use them. Still. My half baked anthropoligical theories after much consideration of drug use and the human, acquired from reading, observing, and testing.

Lipan conjuring, calling that ancient meditative ritual that has been with humans probably forever, THEN ingestion of substance, LOST KEYS, and the realization that we are fucked. We will never go back, and will never realize our spiritual connection to nature again, the writing's on the wall...Rosetta Stone(d). Shit the bed again. Typical.

Hope that makes sense, and no, I'm not on any hallucinogens.
