Once I know you are religious, I immediately question your intelligence on every single topic

I disagree with you that the world would be better without religion. I'm Christian, and part of what Christianity gives me is moral guidelines and a reason to follow them. Knowing that God will love me no matter what motivates me (even more than the threat of Hell) to be a good person so I don't disappoint Him. Religion, and in my experience Christianity, is better at enforcing good morals than anything else. I agree that religion can have the opposite effect in people, and that it would be a cop-out to say that those people are not real believers and that real believers are those who never do anything bad. However, I think it had done more good to the world than bad.
