Oregon’s Single-Family Zoning Ban Was a ‘Long Time Coming’ - The state’s new upzoning bill would be historic. But Oregon has long been a pioneer in tight land-use controls that promote dense urban development

Wow uhm... folks need to really realllllly contemplate what true motives are going on under the hood here. Because I'll tell you guys what, being able to rent somewhere affordable is not EVEN the tip of this iceberg. Honestly, really think about the true motives on this.

Quality of life is going to plummet for affordable rent, and that dream of owning your own place, is just going to disappear entirely unless you win the lotto.

As usual, the rich will prosper (since they'll all be your landlords, as the only ones with enough money to afford multi-family buildings.)

Currently people who aren't rich, can try to save up money to one day buy property and own a house. Yes, its not easy, but it is also not impossible. Now, imagine if your competition for any available land, was a BIG real estate conglomerate who also wants $that land$ to put down their next multi-family zoned project. Good luck ever owning anything more than a box in an apartment complex. That white picket fence, that dream with the dogs and the garden, you're going to go out to bumsville nowhereland (Like... east oregon) for that dream.
