Orlando out on Runner's Interference

Orlando was clearly in fair territory the whole time, not just the last 3 feet. Going by the rule book he's out on interference.

No. He actually needs to interfere. The rule:

5.09(a) A batter is out when:

(11) In running the last half of the distance from home base to first base, while the ball is being fielded to first base, he runs outside (to the right of ) the three-foot line, or inside (to the left of ) the foul line, and in the umpire’s judgment in so doing interferes with the fielder taking the throw at first base, in which case the ball is dead;

(emphasis added)

Whether he interferes is a judgment call, but at this point the throw has already been missed (the ball is next to the first baseman's head) and the runner is some distance away. It is not sufficient for the runner to have affected the throw - he needs to affect the fielder taking the throw. I think the only way this call can be correct is if they ruled that he somehow screened the ball from the fielder and I really don't see that.
