Orochi needs a rework! (Please read!)

Okay, so Orochi at low tier is very powerful. That's why people at the start of the game were playing him a lot; it's because of his top light start up time and the damage it does.

At high tier, he's very underpowered, and the reason for that is because a lot of his moves are near useless. Let's start with deflect. To deflect you have to dodge in a direction of an enemies attack in a very, very miniscule amount of time. If you were to pull that off, you can either heavy or light deflect. If you were to light deflect then the risk you took was pointless. Light deflects do slightly less damage than heavy attacks; and if you were to parry the attack, which is safer, you would of got a heavy attack off and had more damage.

Now let’s say instead of doing a light deflect you done a heavy deflect. I will admit heavy deflects are very useful ever since the hyper armor buff; however you can dodge this very... easily... to be quite honest. Just roll away, you see the attack coming from a mile. It's only a matter of time before people start to get the hang of that. Also, depending on the character you're dueling may, very rarely, put you on the bad end of the stick. If you (Orochi) have two bars of health and deflect your opponent (Berserker), which has three bars of health while he is doing a top heavy, you would be punished for pulling off one of the most difficult moves in the game. I’m not saying deflect is completely useless for Orochi, but I am saying it still needs another buff.

Now I’m going to talk about “Riptide Strike” (The move where Orochi jumps back with his sword over head) this move is utter crap. Not only do you do it if you’re trying to parry a top attack, but you cannot cancel it. Also, it does slightly less damage than a normal heavy. It is so bad, it has a negative effect most of the time. Why would I want to do that, when I do more damage off a regular parry, and if they cancel their parry, I’m able to cancel mine? I suppose it might have some ups to it, but the downs are far more significant.

Storm rush, oh boy. This move in my opinion makes Orochi somewhat viable; sometimes. It does a mass of damage. However, it is very easy to parry. The only time you’d EVER want to use this is when they’re stuck in an animation, or if you’re going to feint it. This move is useful, however you can almost never connect this move. As I said before Orochi’s top light is powerful at low tier. Orochi’s top light is the only thing that makes him viable at high tier, at all. However; his side lights are so pathetic that it’s laughable. And if you chain them, it’s an easy parry.

Overall, Orochi’s kit is useless and needs a huge rework. He has the least amount of options in the game when it comes to mixups and attacks. How do we fix it? Here is what I suggest; Nerf his top light so Orochi’s cannot spam it. Make it do a quarter less damage. Make his storm rush be able to feint/GB later than you can now. Make his Riptide Strike either do more damage, blind, or feintable. Make his light deflect do as much damage as a heavy and blind you. Make his heavy deflect blind you, decrease the damage he takes while in animation, and if the person was killed by heavy deflect, make them not be able to be revived.

I would like to avoid being biased, so if any of my statistics are wrong, or I didn’t provide missed statistics, please correct me. Also, I do understand flicker is a huge issue with Orochi. I would ask for that to be fixed but they can’t when For Honor doesn’t have dedicated servers. Tell me your thoughts! Sorry for it being so long also. If it helps with anything, I play on PS4.
