Osan Right Now

Okay, so I was Kadena for three years. I experiences a million typhoons twice as powerful as this one. The difference, though, is that Kadena is built for typhoons. Everything is sturdy as hell. There are massive, in-depth guides on what to do at each TCCOR level. We have special covers made for things, tie-downs pre-positioned, exact plans on where to place things like vehicles and equipment, complete sand-bag procedures, etc. There were recovery and response teams and literally every fail-safe imaginable.

Here, nobody even knows what TCCOR even means or how to do basic typhoon prep. Seen it on social media and heard it from various ranks. I had to explain it a bunch. Also, this base just isn't built for this. Anyone who has been here has seen what too much plain old rain can do in regards to flooding and water damage. Now factor in 90 (possibly up to 100 MPH winds) and 8+ inches of rain and you'll have a problem considering not much has been moved or plenty of things I have noticed have been unchecked. Lots of stuff laying around that will probably go flying. Lots of things that will probably get damaged because the little preparation we've done is misguided IMO and keeps getting interrupted. Kunsan and the southern-most bases are supposed to take the brunt of the typhoon.

I can't really speak for Osan as to how they're handling preparation but it seems it's not being handled very well if posts on here are any indication.
