Our newest rescue. She’s afraid of men so my husband put a blanket down for her to choose when to approach. She laid by him and used his head for a pillow

Our first family dog was a pure breed lab and we had her for 13 amazing years. Once we were ready as a family, a few years later, we were leaning towards getting another full breed lab but decided to check out the shelter. We found the most adorable lab mix puppy. We found out that she was extremely playful and fell in love but couldn’t take her home right away (she needed to be fixed). She just froze and didn’t move once we put her back and it was so heartbreaking to see. That’s my puppy but she thinks she’s being abandoned. That was the moment I decided I was never doing it any differently. Shelter pups need homes and often they’re mutts/mixes which means they’re much healthier than full breeds. Sorry for the novel, but definitely check out your local shelter. You never know who you might find!
