Owning your mix

Thanks for the responses. I wasn’t fired or anything and when I mix at churches, I usually save a setting for them to go back to incase they need it. I was given the run through myself when I came in but I had to build my mix and settings from scratch actually but the other guy’s settings and mix was still there. I just preferred to start from zero since it gives me a better idea of the sound from the source to the chain.

Reason I asked though, was because I have a friend who’s church’s house engineer left and the new guy came in. If the old settings/mix was still there, it should sound practically the same I’m assuming. But they’re not happy with the new guy and are looking for another because the mix wasn’t as good as the old one. Happened to 2 churches I know so I was curious if the previous engineers deleted their mix and if so, if this was typical practice. But thanks for the moral rainstorm you guys came in with, I should’ve been a bit more detailed on my post.
