The story sounds suspect. A "hacker" found the photos? Have you looked up what exactly he was charged and convicted of? Did he have a jury trial? Have you spoken to his attorney about anything or been told by him what his attorney says?

If you love kids you need to know that it will be difficult raising children with someone who has been convicted of a sexual crime. My kids school does background checks on anyone who wants to chaperone a field trip. Same with coaching teams. If he's registered people will know your house. Just in general anyone who googles his name may find his conviction registered or not.

If your going to push forward with the relationship and support him through all of this I think you need to know exactly what happened and what he was convicted of doing.
