People Are Too Terrified To Get Pregnant Under Poland’s Harsh Abortion Law: Poland’s total ban on abortion has led to women dying after being denied terminations. Now, many are choosing not to have any children at all

I just listened to an NPR story about female military members stationed in Utah being denied leave if it may have anything to do with an abortion. It would land commanding officers in jail for breaking this new law. (COs are the ultimate authority for leave requests)

So now COs are unable or at least more hesitant to both provide necessary medical care for readiness purposes and also approve leave for expecting mothers to see their families.

I wonder if this actually does discourage young and dumb people from fucking, like in Poland, or if it's just going to result in a bunch of female POC getting sent to jail. Because let's be honest, all these laws and the criminal justice system in general are designed to disproportionately affect non-white people.

Whatever happens, it's going to hurt families.
