People who had a bad boss, how did you take revenge on him at work?

Me and a colleague set my manager up.

My ex-manager, lets call her Miss X, was bottom of the barrel humans, she was a compulsive liar, gave us genuinely impossible deadlines and made us do her work whilst she scrolled through facebook all day... whilst still expecting us to do our own work... and blamed us to her manager, for her own fuck ups... (she was caught out for lying twice before). This went on for years and we had enough.

Long story short, she verbally (key word verbally) asked me and my colleague if we could carry out some important work for her.

I don't want to get into the details of the work due to confidential reasons, but we purposely didn't carry out what she asked, and in the board meeting she brought up the spreadsheet and other documents, with nothing on them :) She looked like an idiot! She then rightfully blamed this on me and my colleague and we denied everything.

My colleague and I had said we had no idea what she's talking about as we had no email asking us to carry out the work, and that the work was above our banding/paygrade so we technically should not have been asked to do it.

Knowing that my manager had a history of lying and getting caught out, we complained to Miss X's manager, as well as HR about this.

Turns out that Miss X's manager also disliked and had enough of her, and fired her 2 days later once the HR complaint report came through.

Our new manager is the best, and a pretty cool guy too. We play football (soccer) together on weekends. He's like a friend.
