Big baby on the way

9lbs 7oz, I’m 5 ft 7 and was recommended to have an elective c-section at 39weeks due to a partial placenta praevia, baby’s size and assessment of my pelvis where my doctor concluded baby was at a high risk of a shoulder dystocia based on baby’s size and my pelvis shape. The baby’s size in the ultrasound and size upon delivery were pretty accurate. As much as I would have preferred to have had a vaginal delivery, I don’t regret agreeing to a c-section. All I wanted was for my baby to arrive safely, and I was lucky that he did.

I think your plan is reasonable; it is based upon the facts, upon testing conducted by your medical team and upon how you feel about your personal situation.
