People who have jobs where you go inside homes, what's the worst thing you've seen?

I've worked as an EMT/Paramedic/EMS for a year now and have already seen some very disgusting stuff.

About 6 months ago we were called to a home for shortness of breath (very common call type). We could only back the ambulance part way into the driveway because the trees were overgrown. The son comes out of the house to greet us. I'll never forget, black shirt covered in dandruff with gym shorts, overweight, his hair had the semi circle thing with nothing on top, long and black. We go into the house and the patient is talking about his mother being SOB. Immediately after walking in there is a single pathway through the hallways/kitchen/living room. A single path, that if you had your feet together that is as wide as it was. On either side there was garbage piled up on an angle at least two feet high and higher is some points. It was all litter, garbage, bottles, pizza boxes, newspapers, food containers, chip bags, just dirt. The walls you could tell were once white but from smoking continuously for however many years they were a yellowish brown colour. There were at least 3-4 cats which actually I remember being friendly and jumping around. But the whole place smelled like cat piss. Just overwhelmingly strong odour. I will never forget the smell of that house. It was actually sad bc the son had clearly been ignoring looking after his elderly mother.
