People who have tried to meet someone from the Internet IRL, what happened?

Met my first real band via the internet, one of the guys became one of my best friends. Ended up getting a job in the place I'm still working living together in the next town over from our home town. The same town that it turned out the singer from my next band, that I had just put together from random people internet, was from. She also became a good friend as did a lot of her friends and I'm still there nearly ten years later. My current band is made up of people I've met since.

In short meeting random internet people have lead to the follow. My partner, lots of my friends, my day job / career, and my current band that I got to tour mainland Europe with a few months ago. Not bad really.
