Personal Dilemma, please give the honest answer

I don't presume to know m2k at all, but to be more realistic, wouldn't his reputed personality make it very difficult to find and/or hold down a job in the first place? I'm not sure how many jobs would be available to him with just an associate's degree in CS either, depending further on where the degree is from. I definitely agree that he should diversify his sources of income, but I feel like the first steps will necessarily involve focusing internally, or else I don't know that he can really envision a life for himself outside of esports. I think he needs to really figure out where his passions lie and extend beyond smash, so we can see a high-functioning m2k who still feel like himself, but also makes money for the rest of his life.

And to be honest, this all feels so preventable in a way he should draw lessons from. If he'd simply structured and disciplined himself better as a player, he wouldn't need to take a break at all. He'd have been sponsored by Razer or another prestigious company/team, he'd have more function in his hands, he'd have more content produced for his clearly sizable and loving fanbase.

Part of me thinks he should work a day job for a while just so he learns how to do it, but in the big picture, part of me thinks maybe it's a starving artist fork in the road where it was always going to be totally all or nothing until either it works out, or there's finally, unavoidably, no other choice but to work a 9-5 down the road. And if that's the case he needs to really focus on making it through the year, healing up, and having a strong return where he can focus on being not only a competitor, but a rewarding content provider in a way that flows with his personality.
