Pharmacist refuses to fill test RX.

I am glad this topic was mentioned this. If using insurance the Pharmacist calculates the day supply. It is transmitted to the insurance . Insurance knows your not using 10 ml 28 days. So they refuse. The Pharmacist can not document fraudulent days supply to get it covered. Another thing some many forget. Testosterone is a controlled substance. That means the Pharmacist has DEA oversight. Which means that their license if they get caught up in any controlled substance issues. Thank the opioid epidemic for that. Pharmacist are held liable for anything improper or questionable. Also, when the Pharmacy fills in excess of what is the norm the DEA is alerted by drug wholesalers. Again, controlled substance. On a liability issue, 28 days is the dating once the seal is broken. So filling the rx with a day supply that exceed standards in negligence. So giving 1 ml vials is the ethical thing to do. Now, Pharmacist are licensed and have to follow state and federal law. So they can refuse to fill any rx that is being used or prescribed differently then what was fda approved. So they won’t get fired for refusing to fill controlled substances. The board of Pharmacy in each state will not do anything if the Pharmacist is using professional judgment. Just go to another Pharmacy. Many people forget that Pharmacist in retail took a direct hit in all directions durning Covid. Vaccines closed medical offices. Pharmacist where the front line outside the hospital. They where even doing Covid testing. So just go to another Pharmacy. Btw T is not a life saving med. Insulin is, statins can be. BP meds, antibiotics, anti viral meds etc. Why do you think many family doctors do not want to get involved with T? Because it’s controlled by the DEA. No licensed practitioner want to loose their license. 35 years ago steroids where not controlled. Then they where. There is a reason for that. Look at your compounded vials. Nothing about it being controlled. But a vial med by big Pharma most certainly has all the labeling. TRT clinics make money because of compounding Pharmacies. That is the profit. Compounding Pharmacy also have to account for the T they are compounding. If they don’t they are gone. Google all the Pharmacy’s that have been shut down. Now, with the end of Covid emergency rules. The tele TRT clinics are going to get scrutinized. One reason is patient healthcare. The other is T is a controlled substance, like morphine and Xanax. Etc. Sorry for the long post. But some of the T bros have different ideas that can get you into trouble. Like trying to get controlled meds via different channels. Just like if buy weed in a legal state. Take back to a state that is not legal. Get caught with it. Well you now get drug charges. Crossing state lines with weed purchased in a legal state, not becomes a federal crime. Weed is illegal on the federal level. Just something to think about.
