Have you any idea how many police and military are serious spousal abusers? (Not even getting into other criminal activities as they are rampant). For these and many other professions (though it’s not always explicit) the culture and structure seeks out to fill it’s ranks. It’s sick but intentional to enlist violent criminals for those in basically limitless power, especially to then enforce law over its own citizens or of other nations. It’s. A. Nightmare. Self sustaining never ending cancer. For thee but not for me works exceptionally well here as they themselves know intimately and cross the line with impunity as they hold the key.
