If we took all weapons from the general populace we shouldn't have to worry about fighting a tyrannical government or fearing our own military or police.

The issue is a large portion of Americans DO fear a govt takeover and the NRA knows it. Hence another reason why guns will also be available for citizens to purchase and carry.

Which in the end means a lot of pointless death from gun violence. But that's just how it is atm.
