Police dog bite sparks outrage as 13-year-old boy suffers severe injuries to face, neck and arm

No matter how bad a kid in 8th grade fucks up - I’m probably not in favour of that kid being mauled by a dog.

Even if some 13 year old managed to think of a crime so heinous that did think he deserved to be mauled by a dog for it… I’d probably want to wait until after the trial for the punishment.

Unless the kid was an active threat to some random bystanders well-being … I’m probably not cool with them getting to jail bruised. Cops get paid to be experts on managing these situations - they should be able to arrest a teenager without hurting them. Nurses, school staff, disability workers and the like often work with problematic kid who might want to fight them or run away. Those people get jail time and lose their blue card if they punch a kid, despite having no training in handling violent people for most of their jobs. I’ll never understand why we let the best trained people in the world get away with doing harm that would be completely unacceptable from people with no training. Or why people who’s whole job is to serve and protect, are allowed to be so scared of their own shadows that they can shoot an unarmed kid because they panicked, and go back to carrying a gun around kids for a job afterwards.
