Police Officer Tate's Facebook posts before death. EOW 5/10/15.

Of course many people are like her.. So many people are fucked up, irrational, dickbags.. and if you give them an organized front that represents something they don't like, they will literally call for your death. They don't understand the magnitude of their words, their actions, and they don't introspect. Its messed up. Unfortunately, police departments in the United States have become an organized front of meanies. Or maybe more accurately, a mix of meanies and a majority of people incapable of intervening. I think many departments share a very perverse and backwards culture in the United States. Knowing that people are willing to make death threats over the most trivial things in our world, it should be no surprise that people will threaten and encourage deadly backlash over the actions and attitudes perpetrated by police officers. I do not believe that anyone deserves this. I do not hate police officers. I believe there is a systemic issue, and it is up to good people like you to acknowledge that the millions of complaining residents of the United States are not just retarded loonies who "don't understand", but they are pointing out a real issue, albeit doing it the wrong way when they call for violence.

Its undeniable that many police officers have a deep-seated sense that the law does not/should not apply to them the same as it does to me.. and this is well evidenced by the literally thousands of video examples uploaded to the internet every single day. Many are racist. Many are uneducated and arrogant. The biggest problem are the vast majority of other police officers who are wonderful, righteous, moral people caught in a catch 22 that they will never sacrifice their careers over. It is evidenced personally for me by every single encounter I've had with police officers. Where one or two cruel humans working as police officers are witnessed by their clearly uncomfortable colleagues, who are helpless to intervene. It is evidenced by my friends who work in LEO, or as correctional officers in prisons who have told me in confidence dozens of stories that should disgust anyone. I absolutely understand that 99.99999% of police officers would never brutalize someone. I've even made long posts on reddit defending your work. Some of my very best friends are police officers with the NYPD and Chicago PD, and I've had close heart to hearts with them about their careers and their perspective on everything going on these days. Overall, unfortunately, its all very disheartening. My good friend who shall of course remain unnamed, is literally borderline depressed about the state of affairs at his workplace with the NYPD. He loves his job, and he wants to do good. The rants he speaks to me about racism, the poor attitudes, the undereducated brutes he works with are very telling.. its really sad, and they formulate an overall distrust of police officers in even ME. I'm a college educated software engineer with not even a single speeding ticket on my record, I can't even image a poor person who interacts with these officers somewhat regularly.

You guys have work to do man. And if you think that people who criticize your work and "hate cops" are just ignorant, then you are part of the issue that needs to be resolved.
