Pre-existing Conditions

I think it would be close. The overwhelming problem in US health care is that there is no longer any market accountability. Both the insurance regulations and health care regulations, serve more to drive up prices and lock out competition, than to protect the people. We're not allowed to import generics, FDA approval can cost over 100 million dollars, the state imposed patent system basically creates medicine cartels. The government finances it in a way encourages reckless cost overruns, and no competition as well.

Some US christian groups have health care cost sharing schemes that are exempt from many of the regulations, and they have gotten the cost down to $75 per month per person with a $5000 deductible per incident, even with the high priced US health care.
