I prefer the term “letting be” rather than “letting go”. Therefore, I’m letting things be, by not fighting against something that’s not in me to control.

Great post! I like your mindset because it emphasizes that healing and moving on is not an "event" that happens. When we physically let go of something, there is a finite change in circumstances - we're holding on, then we're not. When we let things "be," we're fluidly moving through the pain and situation.

I try to think of healing as a theme for what I do every day, not an active decision I wake up and make in a moment. I find that the former allows me to settle more happily into my new life and appreciate things for what they are. The latter tricks me into thinking one day I will just decide not to care anymore and suddenly life will be beautiful again. Life doesn't work that way.
