PSA - WE make the community. not Blizzard. Don't be a shithead just because you play better. Don't scare away X-pac newbies.

12 years a tank here: You can start out as the nicest, kindest person in the world. Once you start tanking, get ready for backseat-tanks telling you how to do things.

Those tanks that pull in Wailing Caverns as if their life depended on it, or that get salty if you pull a single optional trash mob? They are the result of people constantly bitching to their tank about going too slow or about daring to pull optional trash.

My most recent experience with this was with BC timewalking. You know those gladiator groups in Shattered Halls? They hit like trucks and are "optional". They are optional in these sense that you don't have to pull them, but 90% of random groups wind up pulling them anyway, since the other mobs in those rooms have fear and the rooms are very small.

So I went ahead and pulled those groups anyway, telling my party to stand back until I had lured them out of the room. You would not believe the shitfest that went down in the chat. "Why are you pulling those?", "Noob tank! Faster!"

From the amount of pressure some people put on their tanks you'd think their time is insanely valueable, as if they are all on the verge of curing cancer and are just taking a brief break to play WoW.
