Really, it was about only God during the WW1 when the world suffered epic death in the cold at horrible proportions, but by WW2 it was really about the use of GOD as a crutch to prop up DESPOTIC NATIONALISM, really Fascism tried to use it, then equally nationalized Communism to fight it. Really the end of which continued to separate world Christianity into East/West at the same time that America was getting away from being beautifully magnanimous.
