Quality of service at Uptown restaurants (and Topgolf) - why is it so shitty?

It's been a while for me since I've been to Uptown, but the only place I remember having horrible service was Todd English P.U.B. And when I say "horrible," I mean that I saw a server once, and they passed by my table. The only other employees I saw was the cook and the hostess. It's one of the few times in my life I've not left a tip.

We never got service in Mugshots, but when I went it was so crowded and the servers were so overrun that I found it hard to blame them. They were clearly understaffed, so we just left and went somewhere else. My husband says he's gotten great service there at other times. Everywhere else... Maybe we just got lucky with good service?

And like I said, it's been a while. My go-tos lately when I go out have been either Bottega, Iron City, Tortuga, Babalu, or Fonfon. But Southern Kitchen does have those lovely honey jalepeno fries...
