Trying to get rid of a German cockroach infestation. Does anybody have any suggestions or exterminator recommendations?

These cockroaches come from a very different culture than you and I, it is important to respect and embrace that. You've already provided them with housing, and that's a great start! But you could always do more. Try leaving food out for them, but be sure not to skimp. German cockroaches are a fickle bunch, and if the food you offer them is cheap, or bland and unappetizing they will reject it as going against their cultural traditions. This is fine, everybody makes mistakes but you'll have to be sure to prepare higher quality food for them in the future. Regardless, once housed and well-fed they will not be satisfied to live in semi-mediocrity. You should expect and accept that they will steal from you, as your meager allowance of warm, safe housing and good food does not afford them basic necessities like current-gen iPhones or stylish footwear. If you're bigoted enough to even file a police report over such incidents, you must be absolutely sure not to mention what sort of critter stole your valuables. Remember: species is irrelevant here, this is a crime just the same as local fauna such as possums running off with your new smartphone and has nothing to do with the recent influx of cockroaches to your home. And try to minimize contact between women in your life and your new guests- these are German cockroaches, and their culture is ancient and complex. It would be absolute bigotry to impose our values of justice and equality on these peaceful visitors, so in order to be accepting of their cultural traditions while minimizing psychological harm to women in your home, just make sure your new-found friends don't have access. Easy as pie!
