How liberal is Birmingham?

a vote for Gary Johnson may help the Libertarian party, most likely sooner than 2050. A vote for Trump in Alabama is just another drop in the bucket; a vote for Clinton in Alabama achieves nothing.

I agree with this, fair enough.

However, I'd like to clear up some misconceptions you have about Mr. Trump. I don't know where you're getting your information but hopefully after he's elected those people will think twice before slandering our leader :)

Gary Johnson opposes boots on the ground and military strikes, which makes sense since most libertarians are isolationists. Trump would "bomb the shit out of them." Trump supports active military involvement in foreign affairs, Johnson disagrees except for cases of self-defense.

Trump is also decidedly against boots on the ground. He strongly opposes nation-building in the Middle East or anywhere. "Bombing the shit out of ISIS" is the only foreign military intervention he's proposed, because he has the sense to see that if ISIS and Syria were left to regional powers to sort out, it would result in a disaster that makes the past decade look like child's play, completely redraws the borders of the region, and leaves millions and millions of people dead.

Gary Johnson calls for an elimination of the income tax entirely. Raising income taxes for rich people and eliminating the income tax entire are different.

I don't know how Gary Johnson proposes paying for Free Shit TM after eliminating the income tax, but if he can't there will be riots. Everywhere.

And Gary Johnson supports a two year period for current illegal immigrants to obtain work visas so they can contribute tax revenue via payroll taxes. Johnson opposes a wall, as well as an increased military presence on the border. He also believes that most immigrants are people looking for work and not violent criminals.

Gary Johnson supports a strong border as a principle. Plenty of countries use walls to secure their borders, what is Johnson proposing in lieu of a wall? Trump believes illegal aliens tend to be violent criminals, and when considering the higher incidence of crime among illegal immigrants, and the extremely high rates of violent crime among those illegally in our country temporarily, both included by definition in illegal alien, well he doesn't sound like such a racist. Not to mention that he absolutely loves legal immigrants, regardless of their origin, and believes they are a huge part of what makes our country great (again).

Aside from a vow to defund Planned Parenthood, believing that Roe v. Wade was wrongly decided, and passing the buck on gay rights by saying they should be decided by the states rather than taking a strong stance for the legalization of a basic civil right, yes. For the record, openly supporting same-sex marriage and conceding that it's the law are two different things.

Trump has caught shit from the other Republican candidates for literally a year for saying, and continuing to say, that he wouldn't defund Planned Parenthood. He's not leaving gay marriage up to the states, he said it's been decided at a federal level and that's that- he won't make any effort to change it. And if you look at Trump's business and social history, he's consistently been very accepting of gays, and just judges people by their fucking merit as we all should.

Yeesh.
