/r/Chicago’s Weekly Visitors' & Local Recommendations Thread - February 13, 2017

Hello guys,

I'm looking for a quick and affordable getaway to surprise my girlfriend tomorrow during our Valentine's dinner. I can get very affordable tickets ($150 for both, roundtrip) to Chicago arriving this Saturday at 2PM and leaving Sunday at 7AM.

I'm estimating 13 hours because I figured we wouldn't get to the downtown area until 3PM and we would have to leave at 4AM to catch our flight. First of all, what are your thoughts? We are from FL so the colder weather will be a nice thing. What can we do in these 13h, specially considering that a lot of them will be at night? We obviously don't plan on sleeping. We're both over 21+ so bars could be an option (We don't really like dancing/clubing, though) I'm thinking of a great Chicago dish at a good location, followed by some downtown sightseeing. I then thought about some sort of live show in the Theater district and finish the night at a pub/bar that's open until 3-4 AM to head back for our flight.

Let me know guys!

Thank you in advance
