Raising a vegetarian

I'm a vegetarian and my wife is a pescatarian. We are first-time parents with a 15-month-old. She eats vegetarian at home, except for the occasional seafood from my wife's plate, but we have a similar attitude to yours regarding outside-of-the-home. So, we're not so much raising her vegetarian as we are just feeding her what is in the pantry and refrigerator when at home (which just happens to be vegetarian).

Our plan is basically to just keep this routine going until she is old enough to ask, "Daddy, why don't you eat hamburgers?", at which point we will explain, in as gentle terms as possible, why we don't (primarily ethical and environmental reasons). She's either gonna respond "That's weird! Hamburgers are yummy!" or "Oh, then I don't want to eat them either!" I kinda hope it's the second one, and it's what I anticipate (though perhaps I'm just projecting), but it will be 100% her choice. We still won't be buying meat at the grocery store, though, she if she does end up being a carnivore, she will have to be resourceful ;)
