Redditor spills beans about a Fallout 4 being released at June 2015 E3, in Boston, 11 months before reveal, and gets made fun of.

/r/fallout resident here. Let me break this post down for you:

I want to confirm that the recent leaks about Fallout 4 are true. In Fallout 4, you are in Boston

Already just going off of rumors/leaks that were common knowledge in the community. Bethesda employees were spotted scouting out Boston quite a while back

takes place in the year 2287, exactly 10 years after Fallout 3

Remains to be seen, but the games are usually a while apart (some further than others). FNV was 4 years after FO3. FO4 being 6 years after that, of course. We really don't know yet.

Fallout 4, mixing things up, we are making the game more "Story Based" and the player character will finally talk, and narrate his storyline

Unknown. This is an extrapolation of rumors from the casting call leak (which, again, may or may not be legit). So far, all we've heard is 1 line from the protagonist.

you start the game with a blast

That's... Rather vague.

After the blast, you awake to see the building you are standing inside blown apart and your wife, Lydia, dead. Robots and Androids are storming the place, killing and kidnapping the people inside. You, known as "The Officer", must escape and get revenge.

Mostly unknown. If we're assuming that the protagonist is the man in the trailer while the bombs fall, then this is already not the case. It seems his wife may be hit by the initial dropping of the bombs in 2077. Androids (AFAIK) did not exist at this time, nor are they in a building. Small details, I know, but it's there.

If the names end up being dead-on, obviously, it could show this being a legit leak.

The downtown area is entirely controlled by "The Institute"

Unknown. Something that has been speculated ever since The Institute was first introduced.

The countryside area is a "Wasteland"

Technically unknown, but nothing new.

Logan International Airport is taken over by the Brotherhood of Steel who are there trying to control the technology

Unknown. If the airport is in the game, that's right up the BoS's alley. If she got this one, it wouldn't rally be surprising.

Vault 79, located outside of Boston, is under the control by "The Railroad"

Unknown. We've known of The Railroad for a while as well. Getting a vault number dead-on for them would be surprising.

The map of Fallout 4 is about 3 times the size of Skyrim

Uknown. That would be awesome, though really, really hard to do if they actually fill it with things to do like she says.

The Institute returns from Fallout 3, and is headed by a man named Thomas Littleton

Again, something we know nothing about, but could show that this was a legit leak.

Talon Company also returns

Unknown. Not really surprising.

Super Mutants...Feral Ghouls...Vicious Dogs return

See above

Feral cats

Unknown, could show it's legit

Spore Carriers return

Wouldn't be too surprising, but still kinda out there

Madison Li returns

Unknown, kind of out there

Three Dog returns

Unknown. The GNN posters do not mean that he's coming back. GNN and its radio station GNR both existed before the war. It's believable that he may show up, however. This was probably extrapolated from Erik Todd Dellum's twitter feed. He liked to make random tweets alluding to working on Fallout things at the time.

developed for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC

Nothing surprising.

uses a brand new engine built from the ground up

Unknown, though it actually appears to be a modified version of the Creation engine used in Skyrim.

will also be available on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360

Unknown, but it would be really, really weird for them to release it a year after the initial current-gen release.

Also, some story references from Fallout 3 will be mentioned. Did the BOS save the capitol wasteland? Or did it fall? Did Sarah turn on the purifier and die? Or did the lone wanderer do it? It might get mentioned depending on your choices!

Unknown. Very uncharacteristic of the series and the devs in general. Usually a canon is set in stone (if even alluded to at all) and that becomes permanent. A Dragon Age style "pick what happened" menu would be really out of place.

being developed by Bethesda Game Studios, the same developer behind Fallout 3

Not at all surprising. We would be surprised if it weren't.

Fallout 4 plays similar to Fallout 3 and New Vegas. You can play in Third Person or First Person

Technically unknown. Not at all surprising.

on the PC version, a new "Classic Mode" that will put the game into birds eye view and play similar to the classic Fallout Games. (Although by my experience, it actually looked and played more like the PS2/Xbox Fallout: Brotherhood of steel.)

Unknown. Would be surprising and different.

Unlike Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, you can only play as a man. This is due to the storyline requiring it. However, after the main story is over, you can have a gender change. BGS did not rule out Females for possible standalone DLC, however.

All unknown.

June 2015 - Fallout 4 reveal at E3, trailer only

The only thing that we can confirm in the roadmap, and it's actually wrong. A reveal at E3 2015 wouldn't have been surprising. A reveal shortly before E3 isn't all too uncommon, either, and that's what did happen.

TL;DR: The only thing this person got right were commonly speculated or previously "leaked" information. The rest remains to be seen.
