Repair company has damaged my car.

Something similar happened when my other half’s car was in for an accident repair.

Similar to you, someone had hit her parked car and so all repairs were paid for by the other person’s insurance company.

When she collected the repaired car there was obvious new damage (on the front), away from the area which was accident damaged (the rear).

The garage denied liability and returned the car.

My mrs took it up with the insurance company and they dealt with it. Outcome was that the repair centre refused liability and refused to repair the new damage.

So the insurers gave my mrs the option of a new repairer or £1000 cash to sort it herself - more than enough for a main dealer repair. They also told us they had taken steps to remove the repair centre from their approved list of centres due to both the damage and the lack of cooperation.

It was an interesting outcome considering this was a dispute between a big insurer and a large main dealer owned repair centre.

Bottom line, push back to the insurers - the agreement for repair was between them and the repair centre.
