I complained about an NHS service and my mum is now being removed from said service as a direct result, is this legal?

You can as a nuclear option refuse to deal with the Mental Health Trust, they will then assign you to an alternative Mental Health Trust but as I say it’s a nuclear option it’s not a decision to take lightly if that’s the route you choose.

PALS is very variable, to be honest it depends how good they are where you live. I am guessing this is for a specific drug that they usually do in clinic (I am fairly sure I know what it is but obviously not saying for your privacy).

You can also request to speak to the head of service rather than the team manager, there is always someone higher up the chain if you are unsatisfied, failing that your next step is a complaint to the Integrated Care Board (what used to be CCG’s)

If your mum is retirement age you can phone your local council and ask to speak to the Mental Health Service Older People’s Service (MHSOP), its a more enhanced wraparound care, no guarantee she can be transferred in but may be worth an ask.
