Rifle Inspector

The purpose is respecting those fallen who were unable to be identified. We can't honor their name, so we honor their service.

This unnecessarily complicated gun checking doesn't portray any respect or anything. And respect can be shown without a complicated gun checking ritual.

The military is full of traditions to show respect to others, from the simplest removing your cover when indoors, to this, the apex of respect.

Again, it doesn't feel like anything to show respect.

Its for show, only in that every person is invited to show their respect for all the soldiers that ever fought and fell for their country.

I understand it is for show, point is it is childish and not impressive. If this is the way to show respect, which is just a weird gun checking ritual, it is so weak at that.

It sets the mood that it is taken seriously by every participant.

Mood to what? Spinning rifles?
