That’s such a shitty take. No, Izzy has to fight too to win. Look at Rose vs Esparza. If your logic holds, then Rose should be the champion. None of them did actually something to be the champ, so by the default it should be Rose. But that isn’t how it works. Judges should score the fight objectively regardless of who had the title. I’m not even saying that Izzy shouldn’t be the champ, he clearly is above everyone else. That say, to give him a pass for not doing much because he is the champ is ridiculous. No, the reason why his fights are boring is because he is a counter striker that waits for mistakes to take his shots. Everyone knows this and that’s why fights become boring - no one wants to expose themselves to being counter. Fair enough. But that’s fault of the two fighters involved, not just the challenger.
