Royal Marines in Afghanistan discover an Anti-Tank mine sitting on the floor of a house, Afghan Police Commander goes to have a look at it.... (Timestamp for mobile 35:33).

I remember when I was in afghanistan, the first patrol we did was through a fuckin' field that looked exactly like the one in this video, and led up to a small shithole village just like this one. I had heard about just how far behind the rest of the world the people who lived in Afghanistan were, but could not accept that there were people living in 17th century conditions in 2010. When we finally got to the village, we met up with the village elder and his eldest son. As we saw them walking up, I almost shit my pants when I saw the village elder using what looked like an AK without a grip as a walking cane. I wasn't sure if he was doing this to show us they were ready to fight to keep us out, or if he was just out of his mind. He comes up to me and my translator, and basically what it was was the most reliable walking cane he had found because the metal held it's shape, and because it was hard it never bent when walking long distances. This man had to walk 7 miles to get to the nearest bazaar to buy and sell stuff his little village needed. Anyways, we ended up asking them if there were any AQ living there, or had they been by, and what their village needed most. My translator then turns to me and says, and I'll never forget this,"They need about tree fiddy." And it was at that time I realized the village elder was a giant crustacean from the paleolithic era and I shouted,"I ain't given u no goddam tree fiddy u fuckin lochness monster". Then we left and went on our way to the next village, could never figure out how he survived in the desert.
