Russia says it 'will not forget' Britain's support for Ukraine in direct threat

I was starting to consider the theory that Brexit, and the courting of Oligarchs was the UK pretending to let Russia think they were controlling us, so that were in a better position to pull the rug out from under them when they stepped out of line.

We knew Russia wanted it, we knew they were actively trying to manipulate it into happening, and they would benefit from it, so surely the security services would have quietly nipped it in the bud?

Maybe I'm just grasping at straws, but so much of the past few years hasn't made much sense that I'd welcome an explanation that the misery of it was all for a good reason. This is why people get suckered into conspiracy theories isn't it? Broken logic is more comforting than the indifferent chaos of reality...
