San Francisco Cops Propose Using Killer Robots to Fight Crime

DO SOME RESEARCH

From the proposal: "robots will only be used as a deadly force option when risk of loss of life to members of the public or officers are imminent and outweigh any other force option available to the SFPD"

They aren't taking robots and strapping guns to them. This is in the event that somebody is about to die and cannot be saved without using a robot to detonate a charge near the killer. A human will be controlling the robot the entire time.

IIRC there was a shooting a number of years ago in a parking garage where the SFPD had to use this tactic as the shooter had already injured/killed multiple officers and could not be reached
