It's generally democrats that use that welfare. We have a lot more freeloaders in red states as your video points out, and we probably dislike it more because we actually interact with those people.

That's why people in blue states don't generally think there's a problem, because they never interact with the people unabashedly living off the system. They think everyone is like them, but that sadly is not the case.

We also see how the welfare state creates a dependency and ultimately harms the communities it tries to help, because they become more dependent on the system, have no incentive to work, and often times can't even get jobs because they don't have enough skill where they would be beneficial due to the minimum wage laws.

This creates people with a lot of time on their hands who already haven't chosen to spend their time productively, generally.

I think most people are ok with helping out people who are down on their luck or genuinely need it, but people aren't okay with creating a system that enables/promotes bad life choices without consequences.
