School has started, know of any software or services that students should be aware of?

Agreed. There is little to no reason why books couldn't be provided for free, as long as you returned it in good condition for the next student(you pay for the book otherwise). Nearly all my books were in like new condition, as most of the material was digital on blackboard. Some books were absolutely needed, like in psychology. As there was just so much material, I found the book easier to learn from. Unfortunately, that class wasn't matching our career to the studies. So we had to learn an insane amount of in depth useless to us crap... it wasn't even a new program I took. My dad said it was around in the 70s when he went to the same college, but for something else. So you think they would have had all the little things worked out by 2001-2003. A friend I made at work wanted to go into the same program. I told him the awful issues algonquin had, so we went somewhere in Toronto(I didn't have the luxury of going elsewhere). He said the program there was 100% tailored to that career we were going for. I understand not every college is bad, but when I signed up, it was in the top 3 from my career choice in a pamphlet i received at my high school. When my friend was looking at stats, algonquin wasnt even on the charts for being good in that program any longer... ya, no kidding.

I changed career paths, after I learned that the only way I could get hired, was if I lied during the hiring interviews. My ex was in the same program, and he was a great candidate. He failed his interview(along with other classmates for the same reasons) because he refused to lie about never drinking and smoking weed. Not drinking or doing drugs was important to us (didn't care what others did, it just wasn't our thing), and I'm not going to lie about my character/life choices during an interview, its not who I am. My certificate is one that can give me really good credit with a new employer, and its how I got my last position, where I was making double of the career choice I took in college. In the end it worked out, but I still loath algonquin
