[serious] Adult entertainment industry workers of Reddit, how has your job affected your personal relationships?

My close friend moonlights as a successful cam-girl out of her dorm room. She claims that it doesn't really effect her daily life (she has been recognized in public, but people don't seem to be interested in talking to her). She did, however, share this incident with me:

She has a day job at the library where she works the front desk. Her first month in, she noticed a guy who started showing up regularly. There was nothing odd about him, per say, other than the fact that he'd show up at the same time every day and take the same seat in the back of the main room (sort of hidden away, but you could still see it from the main desk).

He'd stay for a few hours, then he'd get up, walk to the main desk, wait at the edge of the counter until they made eye contact, then he'd softly say "clean up," before leaving.

You may know where this is going, as did my friend after the first few times this occurred. She never walked back to look at the desk—and I don't blame her.

One day her boss ran up to front of the desk, shouted "he's masturbating!" And before my friend could even look at his usual spot to see if it was him, he ran out of the library doors, barely holding his pants around his ankles.

They examined the desk after he left, and it was caked in dried semen.

He disappeared for a while, until he came back in and threw a crumpled up letter at her while she was alone at the desk. He ran out the doors before she could call someone to help her. The message he inscribed on letter (which she showed me) said that he knew who she was, he provided her fake performance name, and said he was going to rape and kill her. And she did nothing. She couldn't show anyone the letter, because then people would know that she's making pornography in her dorm room, and she assumed she was safe enough as is.

The library has two 24-hour cops that patrol the building, and she get's escorted by them to her dorm when she works late.

So that's the trade off, I guess. Show your boobs to a bunch of dudes online, occasionally get threatened with murder in public. Anywho, sorry this is a long one. Tried to keep it short.
