look dude the bible explicitly punishes the Israelites not for genociding a people whose stuff they wanted to take, but rather for not completely genociding them, with the famous "first anti-semite" who seeked to kill all the Jews being a descendant of one of the groups they were too lazy to finish off. Abrahamic biblical philosophy is decidedly pro-genocide provided the group is determined to be "a bad people", the only caveat is you can't half ass the genocide or else you will get punished later for it

The "Mercy" of this god is expressed by the fact that if he could find ten people in a town which refused to rape the "good guys" daughter rather than his sons then the entire town would be spared. Apparently he could find these ten people, and even those that did escape, one got smited for good measuring for looking back
