[Serious] How have you escaped death?

Oh god. First time- I was about 3/4 years old and had to hide behind the couch when my dad came back home super drunk with a gun and threatened to kill us (my mom, me, and my two younger sisters). My mom put me behind the couch when she heard him pull up and told me to keep still and quiet. He didn't actually shoot any of us. Idk what the issue was and I'll probably never know, but he was pissed. The cops were called and me and my little sisters were taken away for a few years and put into super shitty foster homes, but those few years are completely different stories.

Anyway, a few years later me and my two younger sisters were put back into the care of my father, since my mom was in in prison.

He used to get very drunk, very often. I ended up missing most of kindergarten and first grade since I was too busy taking care of my sisters while my dad was either working or passed out from being too drunk/fucked up/hungover. We moved around enough at the time that no one really kept up with my schooling. During this time he would hit my sisters for messing up and I would get in the middle. Once I called him a bastard and he grabbed me by the throat and threw me across the living room.

But there were several times where he would come home and beat the shit out of us for whatever reason. We were often left completely alone at ages 6,4, and 3. Since I was older, I knew to hide in a closet or whatever with one of my sisters when he got violent. I couldn't help both of them so one would end up getting choked out or thrown at the wall or window or across the room or whatever and beat up brutally while we watched or overheard our sister's screams and his yelling.

My youngest sister got the worst of it- she was choked out and brutally beaten at the age of three. After she was knocked unconscious and barely clinging to life , he called his best friend and told him that he didn't want her anymore and asked that he throw her in the river for him. He was convinced that she had let the landlords dog loose (the same friends daughter let him loose and it ran away during a play date but she blamed it on my little sister). His friend agreed to throw her body into the river and picked her up. Thankfully, he called the cops and took her straight to the hospital. My dad was arrested in the middle of the night, and while my youngest sister spent about a week in the ICU while me and my other sister spent some time in the hospital and then about a week in a "home". Anyway, a few years later, we got adopted, and didn't get split up like most siblings. But yeah.
