[Serious] How do you think the Trump presidency will go?

Honestly, I think things will be better than they would be had Hillary won. I supported Trump early on and voted for him, so I might be a bit biased. ;)

Firstly, to non-Americans: Reddit is one of the "bubbles" people talked about in the wake of Trump's "surprising" (to bubble-dwellers) victory, so I'm sure the top answers are all talking about how he'll wreck the economy, etc. etc. but I think this is far from true.

Economically, I'm very optimistic. Trump is a highly successful businessman. He turned $1 million into $3 billion. That takes tremendous business skill. Yes, some of his LLCs declared bankruptcy, but the way bubble-dwellers bring it up, you'd think he inherited $1 million, spent it all, declared bankruptcy, and has been in the poor house ever since. Hardly!

He's made some business mistakes, but those were early on in his career and he's proven he's learned from them. Those of us who haven't spent our lives in our mother's basement know that's a good quality... that's a VERY good quality.

Internationally I like that he's trying to mend our relationship with Russia. BIG points for saying he's not going to remove sanctions right away; they should remain in place until Russia relinquishes Crimea.

Also, I noticed that since Russia and China have announced they are increasing military ties because they feel "boxed in" by US military alliances encroaching on their borders, Trump has come out and offered to negotiate a way to reassure them that we aren't a threat (this happened a few hours ago, so some of you may not be aware of that). He plays his cards right, this could turn out to be Trump's "remove missiles from Turkey" compromise (except that the Cuban Missile Crisis was mostly JFK's fault, whereas current relations with Russia and China are not Trump's fault). Reddit wants America to use dialogue instead of force, but I guess when Trump starts to do it, they still hate him. Go figure.

Socially I like that Trump is pro-gun and pro-NRA. I like that he won't try to roll back LGBT rights. He's run corporations for decades, so anyone that thinks he can be "bullied into" turning against the gay community by Pence or his cabinet members is a fucking moron who should never breed--and should probably give up their space on this planet to a more valuable human being, if you know what I'm implying. No way to put that gently, but you seriously don't know a thing about CEO's of major corporations if you think they can be so easily bullied.

Those are my conjectures based on what I've seen so far. I don't believe in debating my personal views, so as with all my political opinions, I'll ignore any replies to this comment. Thanks for reading this far, though!
