I don't understand climate change deniers; what benefit is there in denying something with so much evidence supporting it? I can understand not caring about it, but why go through the effort of active denial?

try this example. for decades we were told that high fat diets cause heart disease. this was science. anyone who disagreed was clearly an idiot who couldn't understand how science works and that the smartest minds on the planet said it was true. as you probably have heard this fact turns out to have been surprisingly bad science. i didn't buy into that fact much over the years and it turns out my instincts were correct. it wasn't a fact. climate change will turn out the same way. not nearly as extreme as they say. so you see examples work both ways and saying the smartest people on the planet believe it isn't saying much if you look at the history of science and well, everything else. if the science is solid then the predictions will be accurate. until then I take it with a huge grain of salt. ps. al gore said new york would be under water by now. its not science if its not testable and if the predictions keep turning out wrong then its not good science. the dark matter people are facing this issue now. I realize its infuriating to be held to such high standards but i don't trust the high school group think that always happens when grant money and careers are factored in.
