[Serious] People who have accidentally caused the death of another person, what happened?

It was an ordinary day, I was at the bus stop waiting to catch the bus to college. I think I was running late but the bus either came ten minutes early or ten minutes late so I generally stuck around to make sure. An old car pulls up and the guy in the driver seat rolls down the window and I notice he's the only person in the car. He ponders if I missed the bus and he offers me a ride saying he's going that way too. He was a younger guy, twenties. Red flags all over the place. My mind runs off paranoia, so I immediately label him a stick up guy. I refuse. I wasn't really planning on going to class that particular day and it sure as hell wasn't worth hopping in a strangers car.

He seems agitated, I can't remember what he responded I think it was like "it's cool then!" Then he sped off, but he didn't see the bus I was actually waiting for coming so he tried to dodge out and went over the Curb then steered into the other lane and into a pole trying to correct himself.

I really didn't know how to feel, I went home and made a Facebook post about the ordeal minus the car accident and played age of Conan.
