[Serious] People who have had a spouse or significant other die, what did you do to cope and how are you doing now?

Died 7 months ago. I just continue. I like to think happiness is partially a choice. So every day I try and choose to be happy.

But things are hard. I’m not financially well off. So it’s a struggle. I “think” I can stay in our home but one thing will basically set you on a land slide. Just got the new IBR student loan monthly payment this year and it went up 200.00 Not sure how I’m going to do it with the house.

I know your question was more on the mental side. But this IS the reality of it. You are now alone, with more bills and the person you want to share the stress and decisions with is no longer here.

But I move forward and stay thankful that I was lucky enough to find the person I was meant to be with, even if brief.
